    CCAC campus president appointed to American Association of Community College’s commission
    Dr. Evon Walters, CCAC's interim Northwest Campus president, has been appointed by the Board of Directors of the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) to serve a three-year term on AACC's Commission on Student Success.

    CCAC offers free education and training for in-demand plastics manufacturing careers
    PITTSBURGH-The Community College of Allegheny County is providing a tuition-free certificate program that leads to family-sustaining jobs in the growing plastics manufacturing industry in Western Pennsylvania. CCAC's Plastics Manufacturing Technology Certificate program includes full scholarships that cover tuition, fees and books. Students will earn an industry-recognized certification and receive hands-on experience as well as a paid six-week internship.
    CCAC selects Jamie McMahon to head college’s Educational Foundation
    After an extensive search, the Educational Foundation of the Community College of Allegheny County has selected Jamie McMahon as its new chief executive officer. He will replace Rose Ann DiCola following her retirement in July. DiCola has served as CEO of the foundation since 2002.
    CCAC Boyce Baseball team has record season, takes second in Region XX championship game
    The Community College of Allegheny County Boyce Campus Baseball team had its best season ever this year, with a final tally of 21 wins and 12 losses. After a rocky start, the team rebounded and took the Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference title for the second year in a row and reached the Region XX championship game for the first time, coming close to winning in the ninth inning.
    CCAC Welding Technology graduates complete program in Venango County
    A class of 13 students recently received certificates in the evening Welding Technology program at the Venango Technology Center (VTC) in Oil City, Pa. The program was coordinated among VTC, the Keystone Community Education Council (KCEC) and the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC).
    CCAC Nursing student invited to present abstract at prestigious conference
    Hollis Laird, a student in the Community College of Allegheny County Nursing program at Allegheny Campus, has been invited to present a poster on her abstract, "Postpartum Treatment for Chronic Hepatitis C Virus Among Women in Medication-Assisted Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder" at the upcoming 2019 Infectious Diseases Society for Obstetrics and Gynecology (IDSOG) Annual Meeting.
