    Certified Nursing Assistant Program (CNA) At the CCAC Washington County Center
    The Washington County Center will offer the CNA program beginning in November. The CNA program takes about one month to complete. Graduates of the CNA program can expect to find employment in nursing home facilities, personal care home facilities, hospitals, and home care. For more information call 412-237-4470 or 412-237-4471.
    CCAC students and staff receive accolades in Draw the Lines PA competition
    Two teams from the Community College of Allegheny County have been named regional winners in the Draw the Lines PA competition. Team ‘Wild Card’ from CCAC North Campus received an Honorable Mention in the Higher Ed-West category, and Team CCAC South received an Honorable Mention in the Adult-West category.
    CCAC to host fall job fairs throughout Allegheny County
    The Community College of Allegheny County will host job fairs beginning September 16 and continuing through October 30 at its four campuses in Allegheny County. Representatives from many of the region’s employers will be on hand to discuss different job opportunities, answer questions and provide information. Attendees should dress professionally and bring copies of their resume.
    CCAC South Campus to host its second community 5K on Sunday, October 20
    The Community College of Allegheny County's South Campus will host its second 5K race on Sunday, October 20, at 9:00 a.m. The event is open to the community, and participants may run, jog or walk, with the goal of completing the course in 90 minutes or less. Proceeds from the race will benefit CCAC South Campus student clubs and organizations.
    CCAC earns renewed accreditation of Early Education & Childhood Development program
    The Community College of Allegheny County is pleased to announce that the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Commission on the Accreditation of Early Childhood Higher Education programs has renewed the accreditation of CCAC’s Early Education & Childhood Development Associate of Science Degree program. The college is one of eight institutions in the country that received renewed accreditation this year.

    Student of CCAC Community Education class becomes published writer with first submission
    Anne Degerolamo, a middle school language arts teacher, always wanted to be a published writer, so when she saw her name in print in Pittsburgh Parent magazine this month, she was thrilled. Her article, "Things your 12-year-old needs but won't ask for," was born out of her experience spending every school day with hundreds of pre-teens for the past 10 years. She certainly knows her subject matter, but she didn't know how to go about writing for magazines.
