CCAC Boyce and North campus golfers to compete at NJCAA National Tournament in June.

PITTSBURGH-For the second year in a row, Community College of Allegheny County golfer Ryan Skladany of Monroeville finished in first place at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XX Tournament, which was hosted by Butler County Community College at Oakview Golf Club in Slippery Rock May 20-21. Skladany, who attends Boyce Campus, finished with a low score of 149 over the two-day tournament, beating 19 other golfers from two-year colleges in the region. CCAC North Campus student Max Reda of New Brighton also competed, finishing with a respectable score of 169.

Skladany and Reda are among five golfers representing NJCAA Region XX who will compete in a field of 84 golfers at the NJCAA Division III National Golf Championship hosted by Jamestown Community College at Chautauqua Golf Club in Chautauqua, N.Y., June 4-7.

Skladany, who is majoring in General Studies, also competed in last year's NJCAA Division III National Golf Championship, where he tied for 50th place among 87 golfers. Prior to that, he took first place at the NJCAA Region XX Golf Tournament held at the Links at Spring Church in Apollo in May 2018.

"As this is Ryan's second trip to the National Championship, he has the knowledge and the experience to be competitive in a tournament of this magnitude," said Frank Kaufman, Director of Student Life and Coordinator of Athletics at CCAC Boyce Campus. "I anticipate that Ryan will play very well next week and will challenge for All-American Honors against a strong field of NJCAA golfers."

Reda is majoring in Chemistry. This is his first year competing at the NJCAA Region XX Tournament and the NJCAA Division III National Golf Championship.
