Paralegal program will be featured at college-wide Open House on Wednesday, July 17.
PITTSBURGH—The Community College of Allegheny County is the only institution between Pittsburgh and Harrisburg that offers a Paralegal Associate of Science Degree program, providing students with a great opportunity to enter a lucrative field. The program will be featured at CCAC’s Open House, which will be held at all eight campuses and centers on Wednesday, July 17, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Paralegals are in high demand—according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of paralegals and legal assistants is projected to grow 15 percent between 2016 and 2026, much faster than the average for all occupations. Formally trained paralegals with strong computer and database management skills have the best job prospects. In addition, paralegals earn strong wages, with salaries averaging $26 per hour (plus opportunities for overtime). The median annual wage for paralegals was $50,940 in May 2018.
CCAC’s Paralegal Associate of Science Degree program prepares students to work as a paralegal or legal assistant in banks, real estate offices, title companies, brokerage houses, corporations, governmental agencies and law firms. Additionally, CCAC offers a Paralegal Certificate program designed for individuals who hold an associate or bachelor’s degree in another field who wish to retrain for an entry-level position in the paralegal field.
CCAC’s Open House welcomes all members of the community, including prospective and current students, family members and friends. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. To obtain additional details about CCAC’s Paralegal program, visit ccac.edu.
