• Community Education

    CCAC Community Education offers non-credit, fee-based classes and activities designed to serve individuals with educational goals that do not require college credit.

    Classes are available across a wide array of subjects, length of courses, times and locations. Take courses in subjects ranging from business to computers, languages, fitness, cooking, dance and much more, all available in many convenient locations throughout Allegheny County.

  • ESL for Students who are Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing

    Learn about an exciting new class for individuals who are Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing! Beginning Fall 2017, English as a Second Language (ESL) for Students who are Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing will be offered through the Community Education program at Community College of Allegheny County. This affordable non-credit class will use a bilingual educational approach (American Sign Language and written English) to help students develop their English reading and writing skills as well as their ASL signing skills.     CCAC Drone Class Community Education
    In partnership with regional experts, CCAC is offering an intensive 18-hour course on unmanned aerial vehicles. All students will receive their own model quad-copter training drone with camera, computer flight simulator and workbook which they will be able to keep following completion of the course.     CCAC, in conjunction with the Allegheny County Department of Human Services and Temple University are office this 90-hour course.  This course is designed to foster the knowledge, skills and attitudes that family workers need; its goal is to ensure that those who are in direct contact with individuals and families achieve maximum effectiveness in the delivery of helping services. The course curriculum meets current academic and credentialing standards, builds on other existing Family Development training models and measures student’s achievement of core competencies. This model promotes student’s success in assisting families develop the knowledge and skills they need.  Individuals who successfully complete this course may work in the Human Service industry as Social Service Support Specialists.
